Note: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the combat party will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
